Crossfires
Oct 30, 2004
Redmond, WA - Crossfire
'90 Lombard won today in a hard-fought battle against
Crossfire '91 McCormick. Throughout the opening period,
Crossfire '91's possession style play was in high gear
as they controlled the ball for many stretches in the
evenly matched contest. However, Crossfire '90's
vaunted defense stepped up when they needed to to stop
the '91's scoring threats.
The '90s stepped it up some more in the second half, and with the scoreless game on the line, the top GU14 team in the state and one of the premier programs in the country scored on a pretty header goal off a corner kick to go up 1-0. The intensity - strong the entire game from both squads - increased down the stretch as Crossfire '91 continued to apply pressure. Playing some quality soccer, Crossfire '91 stayed in it until the very end, giving up two goals in the last five minutes to the excellent '90s.
Congratulations Crossfire '90 for the great contest. We appreciate the tenacity you bring to the game as it elevates the level of play. It was a great match to watch with superb soccer displayed on both sides. Best wishes, Crossfire '90 Lombard on your quest for a third straight state cup title! Go, Crossfire!

Crossfire Seattle Challenge Champs
Aug 01, 2004

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier '91-McCormick won their third Crossfire Seattle Challenge Championship in a row today, beating a fine FC Portland squad 1-0 in the title game. It was a dramatic finish for Crossfire, who won the contest in spite of playing with only 10 players when one of the eleven sustained a head injury early in the game. After numerous shots that hit the post, Crossfire finally connected on a break-away midway through the second period. Their defense earned their 5th shutout of the tournament to secure the championship. Congratulations, FC Portland, for the great contest and your tournament run.
In the morning semi-final game, Crossfire beat a great FC Vancouver Liberty team 6-0, this time playing with a full squad but no subs. FC Vancouver demonstrated why they're one of the top teams in the state with their intense and competitive play - congrats for your semi-finalist finish.

Crossfire Wins Region IV Championship
Jun 26, 2004
Crossfire came out on fire in the second half, putting immediate pressure on the Blues defense, earning a corner kick within the first two minutes. The young Crossfire squad took full advantage of the scoring opportunity. They placed a perfect arcing ball to a Crossfire player in the middle of the box, who promptly dropped a perfect roller to the top of the box, where the waiting striker fired it into the far right corner of the net for the only goal of the contest. Furthermore, the goal served to ignite the Crossfire squad, who put relentless pressure on the Blues back line for most of the second half.
With the victory, Crossfire ’91 becomes the first GU-12 team from Washington State to earn a Region IV championship, as this is the first year that Washington has approved U12s attending the championship series. In their six Region IV games, Crossfire earned a 4-0-2 record with a 13-3 goals margin. As further testament to their outstanding team play, seven different Crossfire players scored during the tournament.

Lake Zurich, IL -
Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick went 2-2 and took 7th
place at the second annual Coast2Coast classic held

of the four games were great contests. Crossfire took
the opener against the Lady Warriors from Ohio, 2-1. In
the second game, Crossfire dropped a close one to
Illinois based CIS Knockouts 0-1. Crossfire pressured
the entire way and enjoyed a greater than 5-1 shots on

the third game, Crossfire continued to dominate but
unfortunately continued to have difficulties converting
scoring opportunities, losing 1-2 to Busch from
Missouri. In their final contest, Crossfire started
connecting on their strikes and came away with a 3-1
victory over the Southern California Enforcers.
