Timbers Upset Crossfire
Vancouver, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 lost to Columbia Timbers '90 today in a late-season soccer battle. The young Crossfire squad had many shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. The Timbers kept battling however, and scored on a long distance strike with less than 2 minutes remaining to earn the W - congratulations, Timbers!
Crossfire Ties Storm
Buckley, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick and Mt. Rainier '90 Storm battled the entire contest and neither team could find the back of the net. Although each team had their chances, the goalies did well for both teams. The game was hard-fought by both teams. Thanks to Mt. Rainier for a great game.
Crossfire Hosts Oregon's Lake Oswego
Tukwila, WA - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, helped open up the new Starfire Sports Complex today, hosting the Oregon Lake Oswego Dynasty '91 in a battle of reigning state champions. Both teams played hard and very competitive soccer the entire contest. Crossfire opened up a 5-0 half time lead with aggressive play and an attacking offense. The teams played it even in the second half, each scoring two goals enroute to the Crossfire W. Thanks, Oregon Lake Oswego Dynasty, for venturing north on a cold day for soccer in the sun at the brand new sports complex. Best wishes in your continued success this soccer season!
Crossfire Ousts O'Niners
Bremerton, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 used ball control to advantage today in beating the Bremerton '90 O'Niners 4-2. Bremerton came out strong and played intense soccer, but Crossfire's high scoring offense would not be denied. After repeated attempts, Crossfire connected twice in the opening period. Bremerton connected on a high shot from near mid-field just before half. With a 2-1 lead entering the second period, Crossfire continued applying offensive pressure and connected twice more. Similar to the first half, Bremerton found the back of the net late in the game for their second goal.
