Tacoma, WA, March 13, 2004 - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, defended their crown and repeated as Washington State soccer champions today in a 2-0 win over Eastside Red '91. It was a great day in the sun for a soccer championship. Crossfire connected in each half to earn the GU-12 title, their second state championship in a row. In their seven state cup games, Crossfire were 7-0 with a 22-3 goals margin.

Bellevue, Wa - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick faced a determined NWN Nemesis squad today at Newport High School in a Championship Cup Semi Final game. Crossfire found the back of the net first on a 1-2 scoring strike to take a one goal lead into the half. Nemesis tied it early in the second half, and Crossfire came back to score again and secure the 2-1 W.

Crossfire Over Royals 4-0 in Quarter-Finals

Tacoma, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick beat FC Royals '91 today 4-0 to advance to the State Championship Cup Semi-Finals. It was a great day, with the sun shining, a wonderful field and two teams eager to play State Cup soccer. Crossfire earned two goals each period to secure the W. The Royals are the top WA GU12 team we've seen so far this season. Congratulations, Royals, for the great contest and for your successful season!

Crossfire Wins-Advances to Quarter-Finals

Kirkland, Wa - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, beat an outstanding Snohomish United Elite this afternoon. With the 2-0 victory, Crossfire advances to the Quarter finals of the State Championship Cup. It was a great contest as both squads battled the entire way. Congratulations to Snohomish United on your successful season.
The Quarter-Final games will be played Saturday, February 21. The FC Royals will play host to Crossfire.

Four GU-12 Crossfire Premier Teams Play On

Redmond, WA - All four GU-12 Crossfire Premier '91 teams have advanced out of the qualifying round in their respective state cup tournaments and will be playing next weekend in the elimination round. Crossfire Premier A1 and A2 teams advanced in the State Championship Cup while Crossfire Premier B1 and B2 teams advanced in the Fred Meyer Commisioners Cup. Congratulations, girls! Goooo Crossfire!

Crossfire Advances

Silverdale, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick beat an outstanding Kitsap Red '91 team 3-1 this afternoon in a rematch of last year's semi-final contest. Kitsap got on the board first with an early goal, and Crossfire came back to tie it before the half on a cross-fire combination strike. In the second period, Crossfire added two more, one of them off a corner, to earn the W. Congratulations, Kitsap on the great season - your team plays with intensity and you should feel proud of your accomplishments this year.

Crossfire advances to the elimination round of the 2004 state cup and will play Snohomish United Elite on February 7.

Crossfire vs Crossfire

Kirkland, WA - Two Crossfire squads met this morning at Juanita High and a great game was played. Crossfire McCormick prevailed putting three goals in the net, and Crossfire Percell scored with a nice goal in the second half. Crossfire McCormick travels on January 31 to take on Kitsap Red '91 in the final game of the qualifying round.

Crossfire Beats Dos 6-0 in State Cup Opener

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick scored off a corner kick within the first minute of play, enroute to a 6-0 win against a good Dosveedanya squad this afternoon. It was the opening game within the qualifying round of the GU-12 2004 Washington State Championship Cup. Thanks, Dos, for the great contest.

Crossfire Wins Indoor Tournament

Redmond, WA - Members of the GU-12 Crossfire Premier '91 squad won the 2003 Christmas Indoor Tournament at Arena Sports today, winning all five of their games in the GU-13 division by a combined goals margin of 34-8. It was a good tune-up tournament for the upcoming State Championship Cup where Crossfire will be defending its title at the GU-12 level.

2004 US Youth Washington State Championship Cup

Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick will play the opening round of the tournament in bracket E along with FC Kitsap '91 Red, Crossfire Premier '91 Percell and Hansen/Dos '91. Our first game will be Jan. 10 at home vs. Hansen/Dos '91, second game will be Jan. 17 at home vs. Crossfire Premier '91 Percell and the third game will be Jan. 31 away vs. Kitsap '91 Red.

The Elimination round is scheduled for February 7, Quarter finals for February 21, Semi finals February 28 and the Final will be played on March 13. Keep checking back for State cup updates!

Crossfire Wins Finale 2-1

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 wrapped up their 2003 League play today with a 2-1 win over MV Marauders Premier '90. Marauders scored midway through the opening period and carried their lead into the half. However, the young Crossfire squad came out on fire in the second half and put on the offensive pressure, scoring twice in securing the W. Congratulations Marauders and best wishes in the year end tournament.

GU12 Crossfire Premier '91 ends the season in third place in the tough WSYL GU13 Blue Division. They now turn their attention to the State Championship Cup. Their first game is scheduled for January 10, 2004, at home against Dosveedanya '91.

Shooting Stars Escape - Beat Crossfire 2-1

Everett, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 went on the attack early and scored on a great cross and quick fire strike to go up 1-0, and carried that lead into the half. Shooting Stars '90 came out strong in the second half and pressured early, scoring off an own goal to tie it, and pressured again several minutes later in squeezing in another goal. Crossfire then pressured but couldn't connect on some near misses down the stretch.

Congratulations, Shooting Stars Red '90 - the top team in the Blue Division and one of the top teams in the state. Best wishes in the upcoming State Cup!

Timbers Upset Crossfire

Vancouver, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 lost to Columbia Timbers '90 today in a late-season soccer battle. The young Crossfire squad had many shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net. The Timbers kept battling however, and scored on a long distance strike with less than 2 minutes remaining to earn the W - congratulations, Timbers!

Crossfire Ties Storm

Buckley, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick and Mt. Rainier '90 Storm battled the entire contest and neither team could find the back of the net. Although each team had their chances, the goalies did well for both teams. The game was hard-fought by both teams. Thanks to Mt. Rainier for a great game.

Crossfire Hosts Oregon's Lake Oswego

Tukwila, WA - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, helped open up the new Starfire Sports Complex today, hosting the Oregon Lake Oswego Dynasty '91 in a battle of reigning state champions. Both teams played hard and very competitive soccer the entire contest. Crossfire opened up a 5-0 half time lead with aggressive play and an attacking offense. The teams played it even in the second half, each scoring two goals enroute to the Crossfire W. Thanks, Oregon Lake Oswego Dynasty, for venturing north on a cold day for soccer in the sun at the brand new sports complex. Best wishes in your continued success this soccer season!

Crossfire Ousts O'Niners

Bremerton, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 used ball control to advantage today in beating the Bremerton '90 O'Niners 4-2. Bremerton came out strong and played intense soccer, but Crossfire's high scoring offense would not be denied. After repeated attempts, Crossfire connected twice in the opening period. Bremerton connected on a high shot from near mid-field just before half. With a 2-1 lead entering the second period, Crossfire continued applying offensive pressure and connected twice more. Similar to the first half, Bremerton found the back of the net late in the game for their second goal.

Crossfire Notches Another "W"

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 took on a good FC Alliance Gold squad today at Lake Washington High School. Crossfire scored first early in the first period. They added another goal near half time. FC Alliance scored early in the second period, followed by two more Crossfire goals. Thanks to FC Alliance for a good match.

Crossfire Loses Close One

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 dropped their first game of this fall's league season 0-1 to Shooting Stars '90 Red. Shooting Stars got their lone goal on a free kick late in the first half. Both teams battled hard the entire way. Congrats to Shooting Stars on the W.

Crossfire Battles Allegra To Tie

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick came out strong in their toughest contest this season, scoring down the stretch in the opening period to take a 1-0 at half. Allegra matched it early in the second period, and the two squads played it back and forth the rest of the way to end in a 1-1 tie.

The young Crossfire squad kept Allegra off-balance at times in the first period with an aggressive passing attack and had several chances before connecting from the right side. Allegra opened the second half with intense play and evened it up in the first 15 minutes of the period.

Crossfire Cruises 6-0 Over Legacy

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, cruised to a 6-0 win over Legacy '90 this afternoon in their second match-up of the season. After earning a 2-0 half-time lead, Crossfire's offense continued to produce goals as they worked in four more to earn the W and a 6-0 record in league play. Crossfire's defense played superbly again in securing the shut-out. Thanks, Legacy '90, for the great game and best wishes for the remainder of your league play.

Crossfire Beats Spirit 4-0

Tacoma, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick continued their winning ways this afternoon in defeating a fine Norpoint '90 Spirit squad 4-0. Crossfire came out strong and played aggressive the entire way, mounting several attacks in the opening period. After repeated strikes and several shots off the goal bars, they connected twice. In the second period, Crossfire continued pushing the ball and put two more in the back of the net. Norpoint however never gave up and battled hard the whole game.

Crossfire Gets Another "W"

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 McCormick played a determined Bremerton O'Niners team today at Sixty Acres. Both teams battled to a 0-0 tie at half. Following the break, Crossfire opened it up and scored four goals. Three different Crossfire players found the back of the net in the 4-0 victory. Thanks to the Bremerton team for a great game.

Crossfire Wins Third In A Row

Redmond, WA - Crossfire played host to a talented Columbia Timbers '90 squad today and came away with a 2-0 victory. The two teams battled in the first half until Crossfire scored off of a PK. The second goal came off of nice possession play and a cross-fire combination. Thanks to the Columbia Timbers for a great match.

Crossfire Posts Another Road Win

Lakewood, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 travelled north to Lakewood and played a determined Legacy '90 team. In the first half the ball saw early action in the midfield prior to Crossfire connecting on a near post shot. The two teams battled throughout the contest and Crossfire put another ball in the net in the second half. Thanks to Legacy '90 for a fine match.

Crossfire Goes The Distance

Spokane, WA - Crossfire played a fine Spokane Shadow Sky team today at the Dwight Merkel Complex. The two teams battled in the first half, with Crossfire finding the back of the net midway through the period. Crossfire came out hungry in the second half and scored five goals. The host team found the net late in the second half. Thanks to the Shadow for a fine contest.

Crossfire Quarter-Finalist At Pleasanton

Pleasanton, CA - Crossfire Premier '91 won their bracket but lost their quarter-final game to the eventual tournament champs, Slammers FC, finishing with a 2-1-1 record in the 2003 Pleasanton tournament. Crossfire won their bracket by beating DeAnza Force 2-0, beating Central Marin Magic 3-2, and tieing Mustang Spirit 0-0, before losing 0-4 to the Slammers. Slammers advanced to the finals and beat Mustang Spirit 4-0 to earn their title. Congrats and thanks to all teams for the great competition!

With the summer tournament season now over, Crossfire Premier '91 turns its attention to the fall league and their season opener this Saturday. They will travel to Spokane to play Spokane Shadow '90 Sky.

Crossfire Tunes Up At Bigfoot

Snohomish, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 added a tune up tournament to their schedule this week, in preparation for the upcoming Pleasanton tourney. They entered the Big Foot tournament in Snohomish as a GU-13 team and played well in three tough games, finishing 1-1-1. They lost their opener to host team Snohomish United '90, 1-3, came back to tie FC Aanvallen '90 1-1, and finished the tournament with a 3-1 win over NK '90 Ambush. Crossfire demonstrated a balanced scoring attack in the series, with five different girls each scoring a goal. A big thank you to Snohomish United '90, FC Aanvallen '90 and NK '90 for the great competition!

Crossfire Premier '91 Wins 2003 Crossfire Challenge

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier '91-McCormick defended their crown today in winning their second successive Crossfire Seattle Challenge soccer tournament. In the finals matchup, Crossfire prevailed against a tough and determined Crossfire Premier '91-Percell. Congratulations, Crossfire-Percell for the great game and for your well deserved medal!

Crossfire McCormick made it to the championship game by beating Marauders '91-Drazic in the semi finals game the night before, in what was a rematch of last season's State Cup final. In that one, Crossfire scored two goals quickly in the first several minutes before giving up a goal to the Marauders. With a 2-1 lead, Crossfire came back immediately and scored their third, and later in the half got two more to take a 5-1 lead at the midway mark. Crossfire tacked on three more in the second half to advance to the championship game. Congratulations to Marauders-Drazic for the hard-fought and well-played game.

In the qualifying round Crossfire beat Shooting Stars '91, FCA Blue '91 and Phoenix '91. For the tournament, Crossfire had a 48-1 goals margin. They now gear up for the Pleasanton tournament in California over Labor Day weekend and are looking forward to the competition from around the region.

Crossfire Premier '91 Evergreen Recap

Burlington, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 played three games against some extremely tough competition in the 2003 Evergreen International soccer tournament this past weekend. In the first contest on July 24, Crossfire beat a good Mukilteo Magic '90 team, 4-0. In their second contest on July 25, Crossfire lost to the FC Talons '90 0-2. On Saturday, Crossfire lost to NWN '90 Allegra 0-2 in a hard fought game. Congratulations to all teams for their fine efforts!

Crossfire Premier '91 now gets a few days rest before returning home to 60 Acres and playing to defend their 2002 crown in the 2003 Crossfire Seattle Challenge tournament. Their first contest is scheduled for 8:00am Thursday, July 31, against Shooting Stars '91 Red. Goooo, Crossfire!

Crossfire Premier '91 Completes Diadora

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, came away from this year's Diadora Cup with a 1-2-1 record, meeting their objective of getting four quality games against some of the premier GU-13 teams in the state. They tied their opener on July 10, 1-1, against a great host team, ECFC '90 Green. On Friday evening, Crossfire beat an outstanding Snohomish United '90 Revolution squad, 2-1. On Saturday morning, Shooting Stars '90 Red showed why they are one of the top teams in the state, controlling and scoring in the first half enroute to a 4-0 win. Crossfire wrapped up the tournament in a 'best 3rd vs. best 4th' game Sunday morning, losing a close one in a rematch with ECFC '90 Green, 1-2. Thanks ECFC, Snohomish United and Shooting Stars for the great games and for the great learning experience!

2003 WSYL Divisions Announced

Washington State Youth League (WSYL) has established the teams and divisions for this fall's league play. Crossfire Premier '91 will be playing in the Blue Division. Other teams in this division include: Columbia Timbers '90, Bremerton O'Niners, MV Marauders Premier, Mt. Rainier FC '90 Storm, Shooting Stars Red, Legacy '90, FC Alliance Gold '90, NWN Allegra, Spokane Shadow Sky, and Norpoint FC '90 Spirit. Schedules will be released in late August.

Crossfire Premier '91 Gets Ready For Busy Summer

Crossfire Premier '91 had fun in the sun (and heat) yesterday in Bremerton playing U-12 and U-13 boys in the Kitsap Jamboree. It was a full day of soccer, and after four 50 minute games in the heat, they were ready to head back home. Their next game will be a scrimmage against Snohomish Revolution on July 7th, 7:15pm, at Stocker Field.

In a little less than two weeks, Crossfire enters the Diadora Cup at Sixty Acres. Their first game is slated for Thursday, July 10, at 8am. Check out the Calendar for more details. Later in the month Crossfire will play in the Evergreen International, starting July 24. They finish the busy month off by hosting the Crossfire Seattle Challenge tournament at 60 acres starting July 31.

Crossfire will wrap up their summer tournament season by travelling to California to play in the Pleasanton Friendship tournament on Labor Day weekend.

The busy summer should be a great experience for the team as they gear up for league play in the fall.

Crossfire Premier Takes 2nd at 2003 Rainier Challenge

Puyallup, WA - Crossfire Premier '91, coached by Dick McCormick, finished in 2nd place today in the 2003 Rainier Challenge for GU-13, losing to the tournament host FC Royals '90 squad 0-2 in the championship game. Crossfire earned the right to play for the championship by winning their semi-finals game earlier in the day against FC Willamette Pride '90, 2-1.

Willamette scored early in the semis game before Crossfire got their offense rolling. Crossfire scored late in the first half to take a 1-1 tie into the break. The hard fought game stayed even for much of the second half before Crossfire connected on a far post shot after repeated earlier attempts. The Willamette squad displayed the best offensive attack that the young Crossfire squad saw in the tournament - and Crossfire's defense did a tremendous job in shutting that attack down in the second half. Congratulations and thanks, FC Willamette, for the tremendous game.

After a few hours rest, Crossfire faced the tough FC Royals '90 squad for the title. While the Royals kept ball control for much of the contest, Crossfire showed determination and a 'never give up' spirit in keeping the Royals from scoring in the first half and throughout most of the second half. Royals scored twice late in the contest to secure the W - congratulations, FC Royals '90 for your superb play and for winning the championship!

Crossfire Advances to Rainier Challenge Semi-Finals

Tacoma, WA - Crossfire Premier '91 advanced to the semi-finals of the 2003 Rainier Challenge tournament today after tieing Shooting Stars '90 3-3. The game was close the entire way...1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 (half), 2-3, 3-3. Congratulations, Shooting Stars, on the great game! Crossfire plays FC Willamette '90 at 8:00AM Monday.

Crossfire Premier Takes Opening Games in Rainier Challenge

Tacoma, WA - Crossfire Premier won their opening two games of the 2003 Rainier Challenge - beating an outstanding NWN Allegra squad 1-0 in the morning, and ending the day with a 4-0 victory over Columbia Timbers. Both games were battles the entire way. Crossfire's only goal in the first contest was a free kick from 20+ yards out - midway through the second period - which was good enough to secure the win. Congratulations to NWN Allegra on a great and very strongly played game! In the evening contest - another closely matched one - Crossfire earned a 2-0 lead at half and doubled it in the second half to earn the win. Congratulations Columbia for the way you battled!

Crossfire's next contest will be at 2:00pm Sunday against Shooting Stars.

Crossfire Takes 6th Place in Coast2Coast Classic

Lake Zurich, IL - The Crossfire Premier '91 squad had an awesome experience at the recent Coast2Coast Classic tournament hosted by the ELA Tigers of the greater Chicago area. 16 of the top teams in our age group competed and showcased a high level of soccer proficiency. Nearly all of the games in the tournament were won by a narrow goal margin, or were determined in golden goal overtime or a shootout.

Crossfire defeated a fine MSC Sparks team from Maryland by a 1-0 margin in their first contest. In the second game, Crossfire lost 0-1 to the ultimate tournament winner So. California United on an own goal. Busch SC from St. Louis was defeated by the Crossfire squad 2-1 in golden goal overtime in the third contest. And, the Crossfire team lost to Colorado GSA (Girls Soccer Academy) 1-2 in a shootout with the seventh player.

Many new experiences were had by all team members, chaperones, coaches, parents and relatives. The Crossfire team appreciated all of the quality competition, excellent accomodations and host arrangements provided for our team. It was a quality experience for everyone.

Congratulations, So. California United on your championship! Thanks to all the teams who traveled to come together in what surely will be remembered as a great tournament!
